Language inaccessibility is, unfortunately, a common barrier that many Asian Americans face when trying to access crucial resources and services. This pandemic has shown that it’s more vital than ever to make health information accessible to all. Hamkae Center has made vaccine equity a core aspect of our health access work- which means making sure that all Asian Americans can understand and access vaccines, no matter their fluency in English. In addition to translating COVID-19 resources, we are offering a class for Chinese students to learn how to better communicate in English about COVID-19 and vaccines!

This FREE 1-hour ONLINE class will be taught by Liam Colwell, our Vaccine Ambassador who is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Mandarin Chinese. He is TEFL (Teaching English as a Foriegn Language)-Certified and has experience teaching English to Chinese students. Participants will learn common COVID-19, vaccination, and testing vocabulary in English and practice using them in pretend scenarios!

To make this class more personal and effective, it is only open to Chinese speakers who are learning English, and we are offering 15 slots (you will be put on a wait-list if all slots get filled).
