Pride Printmaking Party! 🌈

By 10 June 2022No Comments

26 June 2022; 2-5pm EST at Annandale Community Park Shelter (4030 Hummer Rd. Annandale, VA 22003)

From wheat-pasted posters, protest signs, zines, t-shirts, and more, printmaking has a long history as a medium for dissent and activism. Art and creative expression can also be practiced for self-care and collective empowerment. Hamkae Center invites our Asian American LGBTQIA+ community members to join us for our Pride Printmaking Party! 🧑‍🎨🥳

We will demonstrate how to make linoleum block prints using easy-to-access materials and create pride-themed designs. From rainbow patterns to pronouns, to empowering messages and more, community members can carve their own or used pre-carved blocks to make their prints. At the end of the event, we’ll have a print exchange to share and take home what creative blessings everyone has imparted upon our Queer Asian community!

This is an all-ages, family-friendly event w/ materials, snacks, and drinks provided. No previous experience needed! Please be vaccinated against COVID-19, and masks are required when not eating.

Contact Jade at jlee@hamkaecenter.org if you have any questions.
