On 16 Sept. 2022, the Virginia Dept. of Education proposed a new 2022 model policy regarding the treatment of transgender + nonbinary youth in public schools. These new guidelines are discriminatory + dangerous, and would increase the risk of harm that trans students face. Since the public comment period opened on 9/26, there have been 55K+ public comments about VDOE’s anti-trans proposed model policy- and many are in opposition! Let’s keep up the momentum! 👊🏳️⚧️
